A fire suppression system control malfunction caused a sprinkler system to deluge an aircraft hanger that contained a prototype flight simulator.  The defense contractor’s project was dependent upon the reliability of custom integrated circuits and the hard coded executables that they contained.  Restronic was able to successfully recover the executable code without energizing the equipment. As a result, a 9 million dollar claim was settled for under $500,000.

An elevator machine room fire caused smoke damage to a Washington DC network-operating center (NOC).  The smoke caused a malfunction in the NOC’s air conditioning system, which in turn caused the overheating and failure of a switch that coordinates the international wire transfer of billions of dollars each day. The owner replaced the $250,000 switch immediately but was also concerned about the reliability of other pieces of hardware in the 16,000 SF NOC that may have overheated.  Restronic worked with the site engineers during a planned power recycling drill and successfully defrayed this major concern. We were also able to identify potential problems in the uninterruptible power supply system in the Data Center.  The insurance company used our report to limit it's liability for potential additional collateral damage and to adjust the $1.5M claim, plus gained the additional benefit of adjusting their underwriting risk as well.
